WORDPLAY : NAME OF THE GAME

from inquirer.net breaking news:

MALACAÑANG SAYS
US State Dept report a ‘perception’

These people in Malacanang really think we are so stupid that we can not see through their wordplay. No matter how hard they try to spin their way out of this mess, they will only succeed in one thing - dig their graves deeper.

MIGZ DOES THE SPIN

“Kasi tinanong ko sa kanila [I asked them], reputations are at stake there. Maraming lumalabas na report [A lot of reports are coming out] from different media outlets na dinawit daw si ganito, si ganyan [implicating this person and that]. I named the First Gentleman. I said, ‘even up to the First Gentleman, his name was being dragged into this World Bank controversy. Can you confirm or deny the participation of these people?’” Zubiri said. “Sabi niya [He said], ‘You know senator, first of all, we regret that these controversies are abounding, are spreading around the country because, really, we’re looking at collusion and not corruption’,” Zubiri said, referring to Theis, who was answering his questions. “In other words, ang hinahabol nila yung [they are chasing after the] collusion angle, hindi yung corruption so kung may pay-offs hindi daw nila tinitingnan yun [not the corruption so if there are pay-offs, they are not looking at those],” the senator added.

My dear Senator Zubiri, what they're trying to say is that if they look at the corruption angle, sabit ang bosing nyo!

THE OMEN

"She chased him last June when he was still presidential candidate Barack Obama. She chased him again last November when he had become President-elect Barack Obama. And she chased him again last week now that he was President Barack Obama. If this isn’t true love, I don’t know what is. But in all three instances, he did not give her the time of day."

"To those who cling to power through corruption and deceit and the silencing of dissent, know that you are on the wrong side of history; but that we will extend a hand if you are willing to unclench your fist."

-President Barack Obama

"In making my first trip as secretary of state to Asia I hope to signal that we need strong partners across the Pacific"

-State Secretary Hillary Clinton

Is Gloria Macapagal Arroyo on her way out?

As the new US administration distances itself from her, it would seem that the play has been set into motion. Let the countdown begin!

WALANG PAG-ASA

Pride and Prejudice

How do we solve a problem like Gloria?

One way is for Civil Society group and others who were responsible for putting GMA in power, to admit, that EDSA II was a mistake.

They succeeded in ousting Erap, but only to replace him with someone who turned out to be much worse.

If that is not a mistake, then what is?

I believe Tita Cory was just being true to herself when she asked for Erap's "forgiveness" for her part in EDSA II.

By putting their pride aside and admitting that they've erred, I believe that the people will again rally behind them in putting GMA where she rightly belongs - in jail!

A little sacrifice can do wonders.
